This week I was home..a lot. I watched more TV then I have in a whole year. After a while, I just was putting on mindless background TV shows...old, OLD reruns, just to keep my brain turned off. Anyone else do this?

I find myself watching a lot of old stuff on tv that I have seen a million times and will even watch them if I have the dvd

It depends. I love rewatching my favorites. However sometimes it is for background noise (like when I'm working on the computer or trying to fall asleep) but sometimes I actually submerse myself in it.

I say "other" because if it's background noise, I'm not watching it.

I wont let something play in the background (like a movie) if I've seen it before. I let old shows play in the background. I will watch movies, just they tend to not be on TV because commercials.

It's pretty much all of the above for me. I like a lot of old TV show reruns and old movies, but sometimes I watch them and sometimes they are just background noise. Depends on what I'm doing at the moment.

I used to watch a lot of TV as background noise. Sometimes, I would do it just to have another human voice in the house when my husband was at work and my son in school. (I'm a stay at home mom.) Then, I noticed how little TV I was actually actively watching. I now get Hulu and Netflix instead of gobs and gobs of cable TV channels. The bill is a lot lower, and I end up watching a much higher percentage of things I actually want to see. I can pursue all kinds of interests and learn new things through these online versions too, in a way that I just wasn't doing with cable.

Yes I do but if I have seen it many times I will use it as background noise. I do tend to re-watch things I really enjoyed before.

I watch old reruns most of the time. Most of the TV shows now kind of suck (in my opinion)... I'd much rather have shows like Cheers, or The Odd Couple.

There are a lot of movies that I will watch over and over just because I like them such as Mirror Mask or Pans Labrynth. I will watch Nick at Night sometime too if they are showing something I haven't seen in a while.
