Do you keep an actual checkbook with a written check register? Or do you rely on online banking to keep things straight?

I use online banking, since I only have to use a check occasionally and I do not pay for my housing with checks. However, when I move to another apartment, I may need to get a checkbook to pay rent. Right now, though, a checkbook is just a big liability for me.
