I'm considering buying this necklace. I'm not sure why. It looks like something that would confuse my friends and family, which is why I am leaning towards buying it.

The description has a lot of Engrish in it, though.

I quite like unusual pendants and this certainly qualifies. Besides, if it confuses people it just makes it more fun!

Not my cup of tea as I prefer squid, and even then, more cutesy.

It's silver plated, so just be careful it doesn't bend or anything. I once had a pewter dragon necklace, but the head got ripped off. I then found it years later in sterling silver and jumped on it. Never had a problem since.

Why would it confuse people? I wear a lot of jewelry and most of the time, it isn't noticed in ANY detail. I might get a "cute necklace" comment, but really, people don't concentrate on other people's accessories that much, at least in my experience. (I get an occasional look when I wear a handcuff key on a chain, but even that goes unnoticed about 75% of the time that I wear it. I wear it because it means something to me and for My Man, not for anyone else.)

I still don't see why an octopus would "confuse" anyone. Most people will glance at it and think, "Oh, she is wearing an octopus. Cute." and go on with whatever they are doing. At least that's what my friends and family would do.

If YOU like it buy it. It's really the only reason to purchase jewelry, imo. I only buy my jewelry to please me, that's it.

I was just going to say that I've seen it on Etsy!

If you like it, get it! But I would personally find it from an Etsy seller (the octopus is a commonly available piece so there should be multiple sellers that have created jewelry with it) so that it's more unique and supporting an artist.

I know some people who would say, "Why are you wearing an octopus?" But despite that, I have been thinking about collecting such jewelry. I have found some nice tentacle inspired stirling pieces. Go for it if you want it. The price is nearly nothing, go for it.

It would really confuse them because of it being an octopus. I know I wore something different before and my mom gave me this really weird look. I know my stuff that exclaims my love for mustaches gets laughs or weird looks from people.

I'll buy it probably when I get paid, I was just curious what others thought of it. It was kind of tough to choose between this and a ham sandwich necklace, though.
