I only do it twice a day. Once in the morning and right before bed. Having worked in the dental field I can't tell you how many people brush and/or floss after EVERY meal and do it right away so it actually causes more harm than good. It's actually unhealthy for your teeth to brush so frequently, and I already have terrible, soft teeth that chip away and get cavities easily, so now that I've cut back on the brushing I haven't had as many issues.

I used to until I broke a piece of my tooth flossing! I cannot bring myself to do it anymore. I hate it. I recently had a lot of crap from my dentist. He gave me a half root canal--didn't finish it, although I paid before he done the work IN FULL. He then kept bringing me in for pissy little 10 min. "check ups" and stuff that wasn't making much sense to me when I'd leave the office after all he did was LOOK at my teeth and touch them--literally. So then he made somewhere around my NINTH appt and I knew he planned to fill one tooth, wasn't aware he was only temporary filling and that it was THREE teeth, one of which I truly didn't think had anything wrong with it. So, after he drilled and only temporarily filled these teeth--keep in mind he still didn't finish the fully paid for Root canal therapy--they told me that he "used all my insurance" that day and did not make me another appt. But that I'd need to have the "real" fillings put in in 5 weeks! WTF?! I am so furious now. Anyways, since I have all these fillings-if you could call them that. One is just an open tooth? I do not floss. I'm scared too.

SO, I have resorted to using aloe vera gel straight from my plant, peroxide and warm water, oh, and for a while--coconut oil. The aloe was so nasty to swish around that I had to quit it. My coconut oil molded. And now I just do a "pull" with peroxide once a day and then a "pull" with warm water during my shower. In all honesty, it seems a pretty sufficient alternative to flossing, but still doesn't feel the same.

Hell no I don't use mouthwash--only natural when I do. Mouthwash with alcohol is extremely dangerous to your health and I refuse to use it. When I use mouth wash, I use this stuff called TheraBreath by Dr. Katz. I use the toothpaste sometimes too. I think it was originally made for bad breath and dry mouth, but it's natural and the medications I take do dry my mouth badly. I like it because it's natural and I can honestly say that it does work better than that alcohol crap. Instead of alcohol, it's got peppermint oil. Really does do wonders! I'd recommend switching to it if you're still using the alcohol.

Anyways, I do spend more time than anyone I know on my teeth. I'm very careful with them. When I said "pull" I'm referring to "oil pull." Ever heard of it? It supposedly has AMAZING health benefits, but I really don't notice anything huge. Most people say they see brown stuff after oil pulling and it releases tons of nasty toxins and stuff. My pulls have never put out anything funky. Just sometimes milky and horrid tasting. I do it because the benefits for my teeth, gums and mouth. Oil pulling is where you sip something usually olive oil or coconut oil and suck through your teeth and swish around for 30 mins a day. Like I said, I'm out of oils, so I've been using peroxide since it's good for teeth anyway. Even water is good. I just suck in and out of my teeth for a looong time. It released things that are stuck, things that brushing does not get. It's helpful and really something I must do since I can't freakin' floss. I so need one of those water pik things!

Oh, I also chew Xylitol gum and eat Xylitol mints. Xylitol is supposed to help reduce the sugar attacks on your teeth, to put it in simple terms. I drink Dr. Pepper and coffee, so I try to keep the mints/gum handy.

A medication I'm on for endometriosis and horrid female issues, it has negative effects on your bones. So I started this lemon juice/eggshell thing. It's so disgusting! I crush eggshells and then put them in lemon juice. It turns into calcium. I eat it. OK I TRY to eat it, but so far, can't do it much at all. I don't know if I do it wrong or what, but mine smells sooo nasty. Like a dead animal and other nasty things! I know there's other ways to do it like putting a boiled egg into lemon juice or something. I'm going to try that next because the eggshell thing just seems like it'll kill me if I eat the rancid smelling stuff, not build my bones! I go to a lot of trouble for my health in all areas so I don't mind too much, but this particular eggshell business has had me frustrated.

No, I dont brush after every single meal. I only eat a full meal once a day, occasionally having extra like a bowl of cereal. Usually a small snack and a decent "meal" in the evening and then some type of snack like vegetables/fruit late at night. Of course a cookie, kit kat or something else thrown in there too. So, I mostly just do a quick brush at night and a good 3 minute brush when I wake up.

I floss after every meal and brush my teeth twice a day. I don't bother with mouthwash. The alcohol is just too gross.
