Desperate people on youtube

Contributor: Falsepast Falsepast
ever look at the tags on youtube and see stuff that is in no way relevant to the video like "scandal" or "sex" just to get more hits? or a person sending you a message with the standard "hey check this guy out", who doesn't even know you?

i'm just saying, it personally DISGUSTS me to see people BEGGING for attention, popularity and hits on their stuff

Those tags are very much intentional. It helps when you're responding to something controversial so that you your video is pulled up when their's (the offending vidoes) are. It's actually pretty clever.

The random messages, while rare, are annoying when I get them, but the thing with the tags never bothered me. It's never really disrupted my ability to find the videos I'm looking for, and a few of my favorite people to watch like to hide little jokes in the tags.

It is really annoying, but I have got to hand it to them. It is effective.

Most of them are doing it since youtube is paying people for videos now.

Some are funny and some are just stupid. We were bored one night and typed in real ghosts knowing we would get people being stupid and I found one that I thought was hilarious. It seemed real (or atleast a good fake one) then halfway through a guy emerges covered in a sheet and the screen switches to just text and says something like "OMG DID YOU SEE IT?" and show it again doing other things and tell you to keep an eye on one section of the room. I showed it to a friend that is really scared of ghosts and she started seriously tearing up and tried to walk away but I made her stay to see it was a joke. They had the curtains moving and the rocking chair going by itself before they showed the "ghost". So funny! It was good prank but some people were going off in the comments about it.

The tags don't really bother me since I usually know exactly what I want on youtube and don't have a problem finding it. The random messages to watch something I don't have to worry about since I'm very specific with who I have as facebook friends.

Meh. I only do youtube when I'm after something in particular, so I don't pay much attention to immature video drones begging the world to think they're special.

It doesn't disgust me. That's a bit extreme. Quite frankly, I don't give a damn.

I saw one that started out normal enough. Dark room, night vision camera, all that jazz. Ten seconds in, a guy dances in wearing a bed sheet saying, "OOOOOH! I'm a ghooooo-AAH!!" He screamed right then because he tripped over something and fell. I was laughing pretty hard until I realized that him falling wasn't part of the joke, or at least it wasn't judging by the way he was crying out. Poor chap really hurt his leg.
