Did you have a curfew when you were young?

Sort of. I usually had a set time to be home, but the time varied depending on where I was going to be. Since I didn't drive until I was older, a lot of the time it was as simple as telling my mom what time she should pick me up from somewhere if I didn't have another ride.

When I was a little kid, it was just a general, "By dark... ish." When I got older, I really don't recall one when I lived in the condos. My group of friends and I (we all lived in the same complex) just all hung out after school outside, roaming about and eventually we'd all go home. Sometimes we were out until eight, other times, eleven, etc. Sometimes, we tried to all stay out as long as we could.

When I moved away from there, I didn't know many people, so if I -did- go out, my parents just asked I be home by midnight, or call if I wouldn't be home by then so they didn't worry.

Nah, my parents didn't really care where I was at any given time as long as I was "safe" and called them if I was going to be gone for days on end. I really enjoyed the freedom, I would have had some issues if they were more restrictive. Honestly it was great for me, the anxiety and stress of living with them was easily alleviated by going out all the time, I'd often leave unannounced and return at my leisure, sometimes a week later. They trusted that I wasn't doing anything dumb (though I was rude, I definitely wasn't stupid.) and I rarely asked for money (I earned it myself) so it was never a problem. They did try to ground me a few times, which worked when I was 12, but not much after that, sometimes they'd punish me by "restricting my computer time" since I was (and still am) an internet addict but that never lasted long. I really think it was beneficial in the end, I definitely learned how to take care of myself and I was more than ready to live on my own once I moved out at 18, unlike many of my friends. Boy, if I had taken more advantage of the public transit system I probably would have never been home at all.

I had a curfew until I graduated from high school. Unless there was special circumstances it was midnight on the weekend and 10:00 on a school night.

OMG! I sure did, I had to be in bed every night at 8:00 p.m. It did not matter if it was on a weekend or if I was in high school or not. My ass had to be in my room with the lights out at 8 on the dot. I had to be up every school day at 5:00 a.m. so that I could walk my mile to the bus stop. I got in trouble a few times for being caught reading under my blanket with a flashlight. My step dad was such an ASSHOLE!!

I've done that a few times, I would visit a fried after work and once I slept (believe it or not) for 24 hours. I was pissed she let me sleep my day off away.

Yes! As a little kid, my curfew was when the street lights came on.

I was a rebellious teenager, but tended to follow my curfew so I wasn't banned from going out.

Not really. As long as my mom knew where I was and that I was safe she was fine with me staying out late, or sleeping at friends houses.
