The past two night my furnace has kicked on. I was just wondering if this has happened to anyone else out there? My thermostat kicks on at 65 degrees.
Did your heat turn on?

It's been down in the 30s in the Chicago 'burbs. I turned out heat on a few weeks ago, although we don't use it every day. We have a programmable thermostat, so I can program the heat and A/C for whatever configuration and time I want.

Yeah ours came on Friday night. It got down to the upper 30s here too and we woke up to a warm house on Saturday morning. I think we must have turned it off over the weekend though because it is kinda chilly in here this morning. Supposed to be 75 today though!

It's definitely been cooling down around here, down into the 40's and even 30's on a few occasions, but then it is October in the midwest. Our heat has definitely come on a few times in the last two weeks. Ah well, it's been a good summer.

I don't think it's been in the 30's here. But it sure has gotten chilly. I think Summer has left for good.

Yeaaaaaah, no. I live just a bit north of Galveston and it only gets a bit chilly at night, not enough to turn the heat on. Then it gets back up to the upper 80s and mid-90s.

Not here in New Mexico, we still have high 70s every day!

This has happened here and I'm in Texas. It's not that cold... haha it's not cold at all. But the past three mornings it's been in the high 60's and we woke up sweating, and we realized the heater was on.

I'm hoping that I'll be able to put it off until December. The last couple of days were in the 60's and to me that's cold, but I have a ton of fleece blankets and pajamas.

Heat's kicked on a few times in the last few weeks. It's definitely dropped down to a lot chillier than I've become accustomed to as of late, but I can't really say much living near Chicago in the fall lol. I'm not sure what the temperature outside is right now, but I know the heat has kicked on already today.

Same here, I've turned the air off and throwing sweat shirts on to avoid kicking on the heat.

It got into the 50's last night in Arkansas, but I have central heat and air and it only comes on if we have it turned on. I woke up this morning to a cold house.

Yes I have mine on today. Fucking Ohio sucks! It is freezing! Okay so it is 55degrees and raining. Still it is cold as hell.
10/03/2011
No heat for me yet. It's been ranging from a low of 65ºF (roughly 18ºC) to a high of 80ºF (roughly 26.5ºC) here between night and day temps. It's been lovely not having to turn on my AC!

Its very cold here.
10/03/2011
I love the cold
10/03/2011
yep, mines on in Texas don't do cold well!

Mine kicked on yesterday. It has been cold the past few days. I am not looking forward to winter.

Nope - I didn't know heaters can automatically turn on. We have to turn the AC off first, wait an hour or so, THEN turn the heat on.
But no heater - it's gotten cool enough at night in which we can turn the AC off and open the windows. Still hot and steamy during the day, though.

Many do. If you live in some apartments or if you have an automatic thermostat, your furnace will turn on when the temperature gets to a certain point.

We have an automatic thermostat, which one can program to change up to four times a day and either on heat or A/C. It only turns on if the temperature is low enough, and ours did.

It's actually pretty warm here this week! But I'm looking forward to the colder weather.
10/03/2011
I turned on our heat one day and then it stopped working. Luckily, it's warming up for a bit
10/03/2011
It's super cold here, but it's supposed to warm up by Wednesday. I'm dressing in layers as much as I can until then.
10/03/2011
nope, i still have mine set on cool
10/03/2011
Yep, it's starting to get cold. I've been adding blankets back to the bed, and the cat is cuddling up extra close in the early morning hours
