Do the higher prices for admission at the Disney Properties, make you plan to go "elsewhere" with your kids?

I wonder how high they can go with rates, before attendance starts dropping off? As busy as they were last weekend, they sure have not reached that point yet!

It's not even about that for me. I've never been but ever since I found out that there are certain places at Disney you can't enter without a kid, I have no desire to go anymore.

WTF? On one hand I can almost understand this, as creepy people are less likely to have a kid of their own with them if they're perving on other little kids, but that does nothing to protect kids in all other areas of the park, if that's what they were going for. So either way, even with good intentions, that is totally inefficient and shitty to a lot of us adults who just genuinely want to enjoy Disney!

Anyhow, the parks are pretty expensive but I'm a FL resident so they usually have discounts for that. My son is only 11 months so we will probably wait a little bit until we take him to a big park like that, as I doubt there's many rides he could go on so he'd be rolling around in a stroller all day. But once he is old enough, I would love to take him. The prices would keep us from going too OFTEN, but it wouldn't cut it out completely. For cheaper entertainment we can just do fun things at home or take him to the zoo, the public park, the planetarium, etc. Lots of cool stuff to do for cheap!

I don't have kids, but I didn't go to Disney on my last vacation because of the price. I really wanted to go since the last time I was there I was about 10 years old; it would be great to experience it again. The price is ridiculous though and I couldn't condone paying that much to go to a park that is going to be super crowded anyway.

I think that's so awesome that you're willing to do that with your kid(s). We never did anything like that while I was growing up and there are a lot of things I never experienced that my friends did. I always felt like there was a gap between us because of it. It was just one more thing I didn't have to share with anyone.

Good for you!

screw disney. Dropping that much money to wait in line all day isn't fun to me. Busch gardens all the way. or even six flags

I don't have kids but I do have an annual pass for Disneyland. I love it and there aren't any attractions at the park I can't go to. I understand where it may be too expensive for a large family but it is truly Magical.

I'm lucky enough to have many friends that are cast members so I usually go with them on their passes so price isn't a factor for me and the lines/wait times are not that big of an issue to me
