I always wash all toys before I use them for the first time. I use what I always use to wash my toys - soap and warm water.

Absolutely. I have no ideas under what conditions the toys were manufactured or packaged, so a good clean upon arrival is rule #1.

I do it with extra care. I clean new toys with antibacterial soap and very warm water, then sanitize them by boiling or bleach solution depending on the material. Like Petite Valentine said, who knows how clean the conditions were at the manufacturers'.

I always wash mine prior to using them, just as I would wash new clothes, dishes, WHATEVER. (My preferred method is anti-bac and warm water.)

Always!! Toy cleaner followed by warm water and soap. That's probably more cleaning than it needs, but I like to be sure.

Always!! As others have said, you don't know manufacturing conditions, who or how many have handled it, if mold release chemicals were used... Way too many variables. I probably overkill washing & disinfecting toys, but it is so easy to do it's definitely worth the effort for a little peace of mind.

Definitely!! I need clean toys prior to use. Dust, manufacturing chemicals, whatever may be on them and I need to know they are clean and safe for me to use.

I do too! I wash my new toys with warm water and whatever toy wash I have or antibacterial handsoap. I feel better knowing that it's nice and clean.

OMG! I'm seriously the ONLY one who didn't put yes? Crap! No, to be honest, I have been guilty of using toys without cleaning first. When I first got Zini Deux, I did not clean it, only wiped it down. I honestly don't know why. Never thought about it, but most toys get cleaned. I never even realized that I didn't clean Matryoshka or Deux first til' I read this. So why? I don't even know. Maybe I subconsciously thought that it'd come clean since it was so expensive? Haha!

Most of the time I do, but sometimes I just don't think about it if they are plastic or something.

ALWAYS! I have no idea who or what was handling them or near them in the packing facility or factory. Bacteria is everywhere, I clean my clothes before I wear them when I buy them. I'm sure going to clean my sex toys.

First, I use a toy wash, to kill germs, then I wash the toy in hot soapy water at the sink, and rinse it well.

I agree with P'Gell. I wash EVERYTHING that comes in this house--fruit, veggies, clothes, etc. Such intimate things like sex toys get a realy cleaning but how we do it depends on the material of the toy. A sturdy silicone or glass toy may get boiled while some others need only soap and water (we use dishwashing liquid--not the stuff for the dishwasher though). Some toys can be rinsed and then wiped down with alcohol.

Exceptions to things I wash are shoes (I do wipe them off to make them look better!), oranges, banannas (you don't eat their skins) and stuff like that. Clothes and lingerie gets washed.
