Do you drink whole, 2%, 1% or skim milk?

Contributor: Terri69 Terri69
I personally drink 2% mostly, once and a while I get 1%. After all these years of drinking 2%, whole milk seems thick to me. What do you drink?

I don't drink milk.

Two percent, though I like whole milk in my tea or coffee, and for cooking desserts.

I drink whole milk. It has the lowest lactose content, so it doesn't hurt my stomach.

I'm lactose intolerant, I drink organic coconut milk.

Skim which I'm aware is like water...I just grew up drinking it so I'm stuck on the taste. Seriously!

With the exception of a little butter once in a while, I don't touch dairy products with a ten ft pole. I think they are extremely unhealthy for humans and meant for baby cows.

We have fluid and powdered soy, rice and coconut based "milk" in our house. My youngest child drinks it, I can't. I do cook and prepare food with it, though.

I drink water 99% of the time. We have a friend whom we eat dinner with frequently and he sits down to dinner with a big honking glass of milk. It makes me gag to look at it. And this is usually after a few beers on the deck with my husband. He has to bring his own, as we never have cow milk in the house, ever.

Skim - although if it wasn't so expensive, I would drink almond milk as well.

I have a sneaky suspicion I am lactose intolerant much to my own frustration.

When I do drink milk, I only drink Homo or 2% or straight from the cow itself milk (boiled once that is).

But I am drinking coconut milk, and because I live where it is plenty I drink soy milk when it is offered to me. They make this amazing soy milk here and it is always freshly made that day. In the winter my favourite hot beverage is a large tall glass of hot soy milk. Ohhhh talk about delicious!

Lucky you, bragging again!!! I know that type of authentic soy milk you're talking about, made with fresh grind soybeans...YUM!!! That type of real soy milk is only available at some of the Asian markets here, but sometimes they're on the shelf too long and might have turned sour, so I tend to stay away from them. I miss the hot soy thingy served in a bowl along with a lot of salty and tasty ingredients (I'm sure you know what I'm talking about), no Chinese restaurant in Oregon serves that.

The so-called natural soy milk that's available at the regular supermarkets tasted horrible...like a nutty dirt flavor (unless it has almond extract added), I don't know how people can stand that stuff!

I normally drink skim milk, if I even drink milk. Skim milk is cheaper. But I also enjoy whole milk.

no you are right.

"Dirt" flavoUr (It's Canada Day so I am spelling extra loud like a Canadian because it is funny) is right. Over the past few summers my family and friends had tried to help my transition back to western society by getting lots of "Chinese" food stuff.

The soy milk that I tried and they got MANY different kinds from various places and yuck. It was like I could taste all the- you know orange juice? The stuff you squeeze on your own tastes great and amazing and oh so just right!!! But the store bought stuff even the oh-so-called-natural-o rganic- is just not the same? That is like the soy milk.

The milk I drink here is nice and thick and oh... yum! I know what I am getting for breakfast tomorrow!!!!

And of course I am bragging!!! You get cheap postage I get great food!!! Even trade I tell you!!!

Are you able to get the packages of salty veggies we get at breakfast here? If not, let me know!! I prepare a care package!!!!

That's OK. If I REALLY try, I believe I can find all the right ingredients, but the fresh grind soy beverage they sell here is not thick enough to make it taste right.

What ARE we doing...did we highjacked this thread and turned it into a soy beverage discussion? Sorry Terri69!

I love milk; I always drink skim. Whole milk does taste too thick to me by now. I don't mind it but would rather not spend my calories and fat on a beverage. Skim tastes better to me anyway.

Whole for me, anything else is like drinking water. That and it reminds me of the powdered milk my mom made me drink when I was a kid.
