I <3 sugar scrubs, never used 'em on my girlie bits though.

I wouldn't either because I make mine home made with olive oil , etc and I wouldn't want that around me puss. lol

I always exfoliate with a dead sea salt scrub. If I don't use that, I make my own product by using uniodized sea salt and olive oil. It's important to do this before shaving, and twice a week at least. The salt gets rid of a lot of nasty bacteria and reduces red bumps.

I also wash after shaving, and if I have bumps, with a salicylic acid wash. Clean and Clear works great. Gets rid of bumps over night usually. If not, Clean and Clear also makes the 12 hour pimple gel. Just dab it on those spots and voila!

Any reason why uniodized salt? Iodine is an essential nutrient (that's why it's in the salt - to prevent thyroid disorders. Just curious.

When consuming salt, iodine is needed. But it isn't technically essential for use on the skin itself. That's why I buy a seperate bag of uniodized dead sea salt for my skin, and a contained of table salt for my food.

Your body doesn't need or even contain much potassium iodine at all. There are places in the world where the plants and soil don't contain even that small amount - thus, creating that lack of this nutrient.

Another reason salt companies use that ingredient is because it reduces caking of the salt inside the bottle/container.

Iodine can be found in your foods, and it isn't a huge difference if it isn't in your salt. The salt itself is not going to give you thyroid problems. Especially when used on the skin. It doesn't matter whether it has it or not.

Thanks for the info.

I understand that the iodine isn't necessary - but if it's not harmful, I wouldn't think segregating would be worth the trouble.

Ohhhh, I'm very interested in the product you use cause I'm always suffering ingrown hairs.

I have never exfoliated down south - perhaps that's half the problem with ingrowns.

Every few days, but I exfoliate all over, it's good for your skin. I have the gloves for the shower, they work wonderfully.

Shaver works just fine. Good shaver (now a Gillette Power Glide) and shave creme (Gillette for Sensitive Skin), and we both stay smooth as silk. That or Laser treatment as a number of friends have done. Either way. we are NOT putting harsh chemicals down there..ever.

I haven't exfoliated but I shave regularly, and would like to try something to prevent the ingrown hairs.

My wife and I buy exfoliating gloves from Target or BB&B. They are cheap, last a long time and do a great job of preventing ingrowns - at least for me. The wife did laser so she doesn't have to worry any more!

Yes, I use a loofah - generally only if I've waxed and I'm concerned about ingrown hairs.

I use an extreme scrubby pretty much everywhere, so my bikini line gets SOME scrubbing. I don't shave, so nothing gets any particular special treatment, though.
