Do you FREEZE any traditionally NON frozen things to use as treats???

Contributor: Bignuf Bignuf
I personally LOVE frozen grapes (get nice, big, juicy green grapes, wash well, DRY VERY WELL....to prevent ice chapping of grape skin.... Put in zip lock freezer bag, squeeze out all the air as possible, then throw in freezer. A few hours later, a luscious little grab and go treat. All natural, bite size, Grape-sciles.

I must admit I love frozen SNICKERS too.

How about you...any freezing of traditionally non frozen treats???

(my friend loves frozen Twinkies, but I tried it ...well,,,not for me).

I don't do it all that often, but I do occasionally. When I was a kid we used to do this with juice all the time ot make Popsicle. I also occasionally do this with candy bars, but not usually for a long time. Just to cool them down and/or to un-melt them on hot days.

I'm not big on the randomly frozen things due to dental work, but I have considered making water-pops with a Popsicle kit for doing the play-with-Popsicle thing without all the sticky and sugar in bad areas. Opportunity hasn't come up yet, though.

Oh, and I've been known to eat frozen American cheese. Some weird childhood thing, I think.

I never do. I don't like cold in general. It annoys me when the hubs puts chocolate in the freezer. It's ruined in my opinion once it's been in the freezer.

I have a theory:

When your body digests food, calories are burned to increase the temperature of the food digesting. So, if you eat cold food, your body will burn more calories. THEREFORE eating frozen Charleston Chews and Reese's Peanut Butter Cups is healthy.

See my logic there?

Semi-sweet Chipits.
Just toss the entire bag in the freezer. I'd imagine the mint ones are even nicer like this.

1. Love your logic.
2. You actually are, technically, correct. Body must expend heat energy (burn calories) to warm food.
3. The amount of calories burned would be a micro fraction of the calories consumed so......

Darn, doesn't reality bite!?!

Lol. I chose 3 options. I don't freeze many things that aren't meant for it, but I do freeze star crunch debbies! LOVE THEM! When I was a really small child, my grandma froze all her candy bars and debbies! She'd buy packs of mini candy bars like babe ruths and butterfingers and milky ways. I hate milky ways, but I love everythign else! Ever since, I've always froze my star crunch debbies and sometimes freeze my candy bars. My sister freezes all her chocolate (M&M'S, Twix, etc) before eating. I actually never had a star crunch that wasn't frozen until several years ago! Lol. They're great frozen or not. The chocolate and candy bars taste great frozen!

Oh, just realized... while I don't freeze stuff, I do generally keep anything meltable in the fridge during the Summer. I live in Texas.
