Do you get depressed when you are on your period?

I have been getting depressed lately when I get my period. I think its because my husband won't have sex with me...yes he is silly but I can understand why, do any of you get like this? Explain.

I wouldn't expect my boyfriend to have sex with me on my period and I just pretty much avoid contact in general. But, I've never had a period around my boyfriend, ever. I've been on the depo shot since we've been dating for over three years. But I do get mopey and emo and every little thing makes me tear up.

I get moody, emotional, and upset easily when I'm on my period due to my horrible hormone imbalance with PCOS. So, yeah, it's normal for me to get depressed around that time of the month. Just talk through it. It helps.

I wouldn't say I get depressed but I do get more emotional. It doesn't take as much to make me cry OR make me happy. I do get drained more easily but I think that is because of my cramps more than anything (I cramp in my lower back and it friggin' hurts.)

I'm with this. There are usually a few days I'm thrown to emotion, wondering "what's wrong with meeeee" until I realize... yup, that again. I also become obsessed with heavy foods (ice cream, cake).

The sweetheart knows how to ask 'are you on?' in the right way, so that I can honestly assess if I'm emotional about the topic at hand or prone to dramatics. He's pretty good about getting it right but DAMMIT if its not frustrating as hell.

I don't really get depressed, I just get moody.

Sometimes I'm a little blue but I think it's just hormones. Or the weather. Cloudy, rainy days make me blue too.

I get moody because I am in a lot of pain. Sometimes I get depressed, but I suffer from depression, so if it's me bleeding or just normally how I am I wouldn't know.

I don't get depressed but moody or emotional. My responses to things sometimes are off when I am on my period.
Sex during my period certainly helps me, it alleviates cramps and gives me an immediate lift.

I don't really get depressed, but I'm more likely to switch moods really quickly. There's a lot of irrational happy to sad/angry/frustrated, but also some random sad/angry/frustrated back to happy.

Emotional, moody, angry, crampy, tired, the list goes on and on! Sex does help alleviate the cramps and lightens up my mood. It also seems to shorten the duration of my period too!

I get cranky and yes somewhat depressed. I have had cramps for several days but my period hasn't started yet! so add frustrated to the list.

Brownies and Frostys (with hot french fries for dipping, please!) here- like I'm not already bloated and swollen enough already by that time!

Not so much depressed just tired and cranky as hell the week before! If I'm left alone I do find this is the best week for me to do things funnily enough as my focus is amazing, go figure

Put me in the give me something sweet category as well! The only time I eat really sweet stuff is that week and it's the only week of the month I hate coffee.

I do find I get horny the day after I start but my Hubby's not into period sex so my toys get a lot of testing at that time of the month and over the years I've come to appreciate my alone time -))
