I have a smaller backpack, so 2-3 days is about my limit solo, although when I camp with my family, we'll go for a week or so since we can stow quite a bit in the car.
When I'm alone, camping is a means to get me to somewhere I want to photograph, but when I camp with my family, it's about maximizing the experience for my kids. As such, we'll play in streams, go on day hikes, cook over the campfire, etc.

Growing up we went camping ALL THE TIME. We'd drive hours up into Canada to random lakes so my dad could fish, and I loved it. We'd swim, go hiking,have smores, and do whatever activities were around. My bf has been camping once. When he was in 2nd grade with the cub scouts or something like that. We have kiddo's now, and we have yet to go on a family camping trip. I booked us a place in Montana this summer for a cheap getaway. I can't wait! The only real activities I have planned is gold panning, and we are going to a rodeo while we are there

I used to go camping more, and mainly with Girl Scouts. I'd like to go again soon, I haven't been since I was 14 or 15 or so.
