Do you have a holiday birthday?

Contributor: jmex83 jmex83
Do you have a holiday birthday? If so, do you celebrate them together or separately (different gifts per holiday/birthday) or do you get one gift for that day period. I knew a girl in high school that her birthday was Christmas day. She got double the presents. Some for Christmas and some for her birthday. It seemed a little bizarre to me, but I guess it makes sense. Don't want to short change the poor kid lol.

My son's birthday is November 25, and it falls on Thanksgiving day every four years, and he hates it.

Mine is not near a holiday, but I think double gifts would be ridiculous. I'm having a hard time finding gifts for my toddler that are functional and aren't just space-wasters.

I'm a summer baby, which was always really bad when it came to having parties. It was too close to the school year so people were "too broke" to attend parties but not close enough to the end of the school year to pre-plan around summer vacation trips.

My birthday is November 1st, so I celebrate both on my birthday, and on Halloween-it's a two part deal!

my birthday is near Thanksgiving here in Canada so it is often celebrated together.

Mine falls on labor day weekend, so as a kid nobody was ever around so I never really got to have a party or anything.

Mine is 9/11 so people are mourning and sad, luckily it isn't as bad as it was.
In HS, I got punched for carrying balloons and such that day.

Two of my kids are summer babies. My middle one has a late August birthday. The semester usually starts ON her birthday, too. It was hard having parties for her, when she was little, we'd have her and her June birthday sisters party on the same day.

I have a late January birthday. I actually had relatives (when I was a kid) cheap enough to give me a present on Christmas and say, "This is your Christmas and birthday present." Jeez, thanks for the socks, Auntie Colleen.

My birthday is right near Mayday, which isn't the most celebrated holiday and luckily isn't one associated with gifts, so I don't get ripped off. Our city has a Mayday parade, though, so in my childhood I would often have birthday celebrations during or right after the parade.

Mine is on Halloween. Since that's not a gift giving holiday, it doesn't matter.

My son's sometimes lands on Thanksgiving. Since that's not a gift holiday either, it's irrelevant. Of course, Christmas falls only a month after, so buying mass amounts of toys one month apart is a bit hard on the budget. lol
