How do you know if you have irritable bowel syndrome? I'm going to the doctor soon to confirm it. For a while, I thought it was just a food allergy or something, but then this diagnosis started making more sense. I have sudden cramps, and sometimes an uncontrollable urge to poop. What are your experiences?

For me I have a combination of rare constipation, but typically the diarrhea. Mine is pretty severe, but every time I eat or drink anything (even water) I get severe cramping and often skip meals because hunger pain isn't as bad as the other option.
