Recently, my friends and I discussed that it seems everyone has that one certain guy or girl that they are stupid over. No matter what that person does (cheating, lying, etc.) the person can't seem to give their partner up and call it quits until they beat the dead horse to dust. I did have one. He was my Ex boyfriend. I was stupid over a lot of shit with him. I'm so glad he is out of my life.

Oh yes... He was just so incredibly charming that he could easily talk his way out of anything.
Find him cheating? Okay, upset for a few minutes, then he talks, and I was just so charmed by him that I thought "well it's only a little sex...not a big deal!"

My ex-husband ... overgrown child, passive aggressive, couldn't hold a job, had the libido of a dead fish ... stayed with him for ten years (nine of them in marriage) because I was afraid of being alone and losing my writing partner ... then I found myself about to jump off a bridge and decided he was the one who had to go, not my own life.

I was with my most recent ex for 2 years and all he did was lie to me, and use me for a place to stay. He brought me down day after day and I didn't know how to get rid of him so I just dealt with it.

Yes, high school, young, stupid, naive. NEVER again. I wish I had known now what I didn't know then. If only I had more self esteem, which I still don't but I will never allow someone to cheat on me like that ever again and try to convince myself it didn't happen or whatever. Never again will I let a man put his hands on me, spit on me, call me dirty names or tell me how to dress. It was my first long term relationship (2yrs and some) and I wish I would have known this isn't okay and that despite him telling me no one else would want me that SOMEONE would and not all guys are lying, cheating, abusive assholes.

Absolutely, and I still am. He would give me bad news on the phone or via text or email and I would be so upset, and go see him with the sole intention of picking up my stuff and leaving him for good, but as soon as he greeted me I'd forget all about whatever he did. Since we aren't dating we don't have that kind of problem anymore, but he could still get away with anything if he wanted to.

Sort of. Nothing so bad as the examples given, but I've definitely acted quite irrationally where a few (a lot) of women were concerned.

I was in love with a 19 year old when I was 15. He loved me too but he lived far away (we talked online a lot) and our age differences really bothered him. He totally abandoned me without explanation (it was because of the distance, age, ect ect.) and I was completely heartbroken for YEARS. Wondering where the hell he went, what was wrong with me, ect. I'm 24 now and last year I found him online and we talked again for the first time! It was nice while it lasted I guess. He took off again without explanation. He has a girlfriend and I have a boyfriend and even though it would never work I'm still so stupid and so in love with that guy. I can't stop thinking of him and the years just roll by. It's awful. I know it's over but I'm so...stupid. ugh.

The ex I was with for five years. Cheated, lied, locked me in a room, raped me, neglected me, treated me like a nuisance... and I would start crying with joy every time I got to see him.
I'm so glad I don't have to deal with him anymore. Him leaving was the only good thing he ever did for me.
