Do you know who Tim Tebow is? Are you tired of all those ravings about him yet?

Contributor: Rossie Rossie
Not that I don't like Tim Tebow, but I'm REALLY tired of hearing his name in sportscasts ALL the time. My husband loves to watch the NFL channel, and tunes in to Sports Radio while he drives, so it's impossible for me to avoid hearing his name. Anyone else tired of all that fuss about him yet?

I see somebody named that in my news feeds, usually in connection with sports. Never paid attention to sports, so I don't know him from Adam.

Has he cured cancer or something? I might be interested if he's cured cancer or given all of his money and gifts away to homeless families in America.

Tim Tebow is the Denver Broncos' Quarterback, and he looks pretty cute!

I hate him.

Can't stand him.

He sucks. And is wildly obnoxious. And all his evangelical fans are wildly obnoxious. And his mother and her judgy "I almost aborted him so don't abort your child" commercial shit was wildly obnoxious.

Spare me of all the "he's such a good guy" bullshit. Truly? Stfu.

Also, go packers!

Living in a household with a rabid Raiders fan and an equally rabid Broncos fan, Tebow is a constant source of discussion. I personally don't like him. He could be a decent quarterback, but right now he's essentially a running back who tosses the ball a few times a game. What annoys me the most, however, is that his name is now a verb

he's a good example of why not to mix sports and religion. every success is "proof" of God's love, rather than his skill and every failure usually results in some people mocking God and religion. It's best to keep the two separate.

Yes, I rooted against him when he was in college, now I root against him in the NFL. That is when he plays my teams, otherwise I do not care. Just tired of hearing about him.

How can you not hear who he is. I'm sick of him and I can't wait for the Pats to beat him on Saturday night.

I've only heard about him on the news, so it doesn't bother me right now.

I've heard of him. I used to have him on my fantasy football team (and I won the league, first time!) but then a friend wanted him, so traded him out. I only heard afterwards that he wanted him because he had a big game.

Personally, I'm not fussed. There's virtually nothing to be heard or read about American Football, over here, so I haven't become tired of him.

Well my simple solution to that is not listening or watching it.

I know nothing about football, but recently learned about Tim Tebow from my partner and kid who are fans. After seeing a few things on the news and hearing what my partner and kid have to say, I admire him very much.

I can say that I think most of the "hate" for him is due to his Christianity. I think that's very low and nasty too. It was kind of heartbreaking to hear someone belittle someone for their faith. The guy obviously isn't going to give up on God and it's nasty to hear so many people want to see that happen. I think it was on the radio or something, who knows, but it did make me upset to hear that.

No, quite frankly, I welcome any talk about a God loving man in my home and I admire him and my family for liking that he's had such strong faith. What I like most is that even in days like this where Christianity is becoming more and more hated upon, he's not afraid to wear his faith. I will always admire that.

Like I said though, there are plenty of things I don't want to hear about. I actually despise most celeb gossip and talk and we do not have magazines or TV that's based on that stuff in my house, but when it comes to learning about someone who's living publicly, unafraid for God, I'm happy to hear it. I was encouraged by him. Just last week when my fam was talking about him, it reminded me how stupid it is for me to NOT show my faith just because of how people react. I think he's a much better role model than most of the crap on TV and I'd much rather that be on TV while we're all at home than some vulgar reality TV. I just choose not to have it in my house since I don't want to hear about it and don't want my family exposed to certain things. If I were you and I was so upset about it, I'd turn it off and ask the person to have enough respect not to watch it around me... if it truly upset me to that point.

While that is true, that it gives people one more thing to poke fun of. I think it's really admirable that he doesn't care what people think and that is faith is more important. I don't know the guy, I only just started hearing about him weeks ago, but I am impressed and relieved to see someone so brave. I do hate that people would take things so far as to be so nasty about someone's religion though. He's stronger than I AM.

Like I said, I don't hate him as a person. It's those sportscasters bringing his name up every minute, and the worst part, chanting TEBOW, TEBOW, TEBOW, non-stop on their shows that drives me nuts. I don't have a problem with him being religious, but it probably bothered some people when he keeps mentioning God helped him to win, during his postgame interviews.

Well, if Allstars wish comes true Saturday night, then I don't need earplugs for the rest of this football season.

Haha, so true. I feel bad for all the other Christian football players. Tebow seems like an embarrassment.

I don't watch football, but I have heard of this guy. It was not too long ago the Tebowing thing he does got some kids suspended from school. That is the only reason I heard of him.

I've heard the name, and I think he plays football or something. But that's the extent of my knowledge on Tebow. It sounds like a type of exercise.

A verb? How? I didn't know who he was other than a football player when I entered this thread. Now I know he's a quarterback and religious. But his name is now a verb?

Read Sammi's response to this thread, and you'll understand why his name is now a verb for some of us with football fanatics in our lives.

My sentiments exactly. After getting rolled by the Patriots, that was literally the first time I rooted for the Patriots. I can now sleep until the Packer game. *thumbsup*
