I like taking hikes and being outdoors in the winter. I hate the heat!

I love hiking. I wish I could go on more hikes then I am able to do now. But the kids are getting old enough to go with me. So I should be able to go more often soon

I like being outdoors, but not for extended periods of time.

What I mean is, sure, I'll go on a hike, and I'll camp out for one night, but anything longer than that is kind of too much for me.

Right there with you, sunkissedJess! No ticks, no mosquitoes, and much more private since less people are outside in the winter!

Plus, the woods are so magical with snow on tree branches!

I used to hike all year 'round; now I only do it from late Fall to early Spring. I've never really minded the heat, or been too "bugged" by insects, but I've just been way more into cycling in warmer weather in recent years. I do still try to go backpacking at least a couple of times each summer.

And I totally agree about the woods being magical when everything's covered in snow!

We hike with the dogs almost every day in the mountains. Good weather, of course...no rain or extreme cold. If it is too hot, we take a dip in the creek.

I've hiked Mt. Whitney 3x - at 14,500 fasl it's the highest hike in North America outside of Alaska. I've also done Half Dome in Yosemite 2x.

My days of big hikes are over - at least for a while. My wife and I take small local hikes 3-4x per month.

I garden very often and really enjoy outdoor activities like hiking or kayaking, but when summer hits here it can be a little unbearable to be outdoors so i'll curl up inside and not really go out until the sun starts to go down.
When it comes to hiking, i have to take it kind of slow, since im not the most physically active person.

I'm a wimp when it comes to weather and we've never done any sort of extreme hiking but we do lots of nature walks up the mountain here and love it. We're both huge outdoor lovers, camping, fishing, hiking, you name it!

I really enjoy hiking. I used to do overnight hiking more often. Now day trips are nice.

Since I was raised in a small town. i have a natural, deep set love for the country and it's natural, intense, amazing beauty. I love to hike and be in the woods, but only when I'm super prepared for it.

It's true what they say 'You can take the girl out of the country, but you can never fully take the country out of the girl' Even a hardcore city goer like me needs to just pack up my things and head back to my hometown to relax in the quiet nature.

I like going for walks with my wife, but I've never been hiking so I'm unsure if I'd like it.

If you like walks, you'll almost certainly like hiking. A hike IS a walk, it's just outside of the man-made environment. I find there's something soothing to the soul about nature that you can't get elsewhere. Try it!

Besides, if it's truly remote, you might even be able to sneak off the trail a little ways and have a little "afternoon delight".

I don't mind hiking as long as I have plenty of bug spray, sunscreen and it's not stupid hot.
