We just had our town yard sale and it was a great turnout, there were a lot of yard sales to go to and a lot of good bargains. I sat a few tables up and did well. How do you feel about yard sales?

I used to go a while ago, but I have a tendency to accumulate junk. My house is cleaner if I don't buy a lot of stuff. I tend to avoid them nowadays.
I hate having garage sales. You sort your shit, you price it (having no idea what is is worth) you drag tables on your driveway or into your garage you sit there in the heat for days and days......and nobody shows up. We live in a slightly isolated area (most people don't even acknowledge there are houses where we live) and garage sales, even when advertised on Craigs list and the paper and with those stupid signs all over do not yield enough income to cause us to bother with it.

I have had 4 yard sales in the last 5 years and never have I walked away from any of them with less than $600 in my pocket!
However, I also lived in a very small and very isolated town. We only had Wal-mart and Safeway, that is all. So yard sales were the only way to buy name brand clothing items or furniture from the mainland, unless you had it shipped in via boat.
Now, I am trying to get rid of kitchen cabinets and a few doors as well as a desk. Wish I had those things when we lived there! I could make a small fortune. People would be out bidding each other in your driveway. It was awesome!
I do not go to yard sales myself. I find it is usually a waste of my time. I never find anything I need or want, unless I am looking for canning jars.

I like both having them and going to them. I've made some great extra cash doing them, although it is a lot of work. It gets rid of things I no longer want or need. I love finding a bargain on something I really need and is in great shape! You really never know what you will find.

I don't have or go to yard sales. I just can't bring myself to go through someone's old stuff they no longer want.
I only buy new.
We very rarely have stuff we don't want, so we haven't had a yard sale. They don't seem to be as common here as they are over there. It's rare to see one in my town.

This is funny because my town had ours this weekend as well. It's really just an entire road that has yard sales all along it, which happens every year. My family used to have one during this weekend but I'm just too lazy to set up my own. I like going to them sometimes. I've found some pretty awesome things at yard sales before.

I dont like shopping, so I would not like going around looking at yard sales for hours just to find 1 or 2 items that would be worth it. Most stuff I have seen in yard sells is garbage, used and abused or broken. I know alot of people who go yard selling all the time, and I have seen the things they come back with. Most of it is junk. But that is just me.

I really enjoy yard sales, I like going through other people's "junk".
Sometimes you find treasures and things worth getting. Sometimes it is simply entertaining what you can find but it is so rare that I actually go to yard sales. I try to avoid them as I get tempted to buy stuff, especially if I find antiquities.

I love going to them and seeing what's there, but I don't bother having my own. Mostly because I'm a packrat and like the junk I have. Also, because my husband and I are working on getting our own house and don't know how much of this "junk" we'll actually need in the future, lol.

I don't have a problem with yard sales, but I generally don't like them because I don't like rummaging through stuff to find what I like. I'm kind of a lazy shopper, it's why I don't shop at Goodwill either - I hate rummaging. Now my sister in law is awesome at that and loves it. So she finds the awesome deals, and gives me what doesn't work for her. LOL It's a perfect set up!
