No, I haven't done that. I typically just use the tab for discussions I've participated in to see what's been updated.

I'll set an alert if I start a discussion, but otherwise I'll just check back on the forums if something is interesting to me.

I've done it 2-3 times when I made a post and didn't want to have to search my buns off in the forums to reply or view answers, but usually I never do. Plus, it really junks up your damn email!
