Do you tend to overeat at a "buffet" or "never ending" whatever offering restaurant ?

Went to Olive Garden last night. Certainly overate due my own darn weakness at not being able to say "NO" to seconds from the "never ending pasta bowl". Today, at work, everyone is going to the Chinese Buffet, bit I have said "NO" to going, since, once again, I KNOW that since it is "unlimited everything", try as I might want to, I AM going to overeat. Something my diet plan is NOT going to take lightly.

SO...am I alone or do most people overeat, when seconds, thirds, fifths and tenths are "free" for the taking and despite that little voice in your head going "you WILL regret that...."?

If the food tastes good I'll end up overeating to an extent, but not quite as badly as my husband who will sometimes end up eating 2 plates more than he wanted to because it's free.

I don't purchase buffets or never ending anything, because I know I won't be able to eat my money's worth.

I eat as much as I can. It isn't going to affect my waist any, I have a really high metabolism, but I do tend to regret it a bit because all I want to do after a buffet is curl up and sleep off my pigging out.

I used to overeat at buffets - but I don't anymore. I make myself stop when I'm full so I wont' feel sick afterwards.

But yes - it is easy to do.

I used to... but now recently if I overeat, I have an anxiety attack... so I'm really careful to eat slowly and pay attention to when I'm full so I can avoid that... probably better for me anyway LOL

I do overeat at the buffet here, but the problem is that when I go, I eat the same thing. I get the same foods, in the same order, and just leaving something out or reducing the quantity (it's only a few pieces of each thing) just seems awful.

Also, I love rice. Half of my plate will be rice.

I try to avoid buffets as I have a tiny stomach. A 1 dollar McChicken is a much better meal for me than an 8 dollar buffet where I'll eat half a plate at most.

I live in the heart of smorgasbord country and most people I know overeat when they go to one!

I'll overeat a little, usually. Not to the point where I'm hurting for it though.

I just had Olive Garden a few days ago for the Neverending Pasta Bowl. I did get the 2nd bowl of pasta (so glad they're smaller bowls!), but I was barely able to finish half of it. I took the rest home and hubby ate it later.

I'm not really a fan of buffet places unless I really can't make up my mind(s).

I get full really fast and then get hungry again about 2 hours later...so buffets really don't do it for me.

I love buffets, I like to sample a small serving of everything that looks good, and I'll get a second helping if that dish really IS good. I don't tend to overeat too much, since I only get small portions. A few weeks ago, we went to a Chinese buffet, the couple sitting behind us went all out on snow crab legs, literally just eating piles of it!

I'm not interested in that Neverending Pasta Bowl. Honestly, how much pasta can you consume in one meal? I like their endless salads though!

I do!! When we go to a buffet it is a treat and I tend to seriously pig out on my favorite food, knowing I won't get it for awhile.

I do not end up eating more food at buffets, but I do end up taking more food, as well as going up for seconds and thirds. Instead of eating that bite of breadstick which hasn't been garlicked, I just eat the parts heavy on flavor. If I am at a buffet and eating pizza and take a big bite and cheese from the other half slides off and I eat it, then I will throw away the un-cheesed remainder of the slice. I don't really eat more once you average that in, but I do try bits and pieces of a higher variety of food, as well as being pickier than I would if I couldn't just go up and get more.

I don't go to buffets, thanks to persistent food allergies.

I was never a fan of buffets, but recently, my husband and me stumbled into one when nothing else was open. Oh my gosh, it was so good! Most buffets are just not tasty to us, but this one was relatively small so the food is much fresher than in those giant ones.

I do tend to eat more than I would at another restaurant, but at the same time, I don't overdo it to the point of pain or discomfort.

My stomach locks up at the word buffet or never ending whatever...

Reason being all resturants are businesses and they are using "Buffet" "Endless this and that" and "Never ending..." usually to keep you in the building to sell you something they are going to make money on. Usually the stuff that is never ending like soda, salad, everything at golden corral is very cheap stuff and usually low quality. Id rather pay for something I know I will like and be happy I ate.

As well, coming from a low income background as a kid, I can't seem to shake the feeling that I need to get my money's worth...

Always. Especially if it's a type of food I really enjoy. Like at IHOP just the other day... Should not have had the second stack of pancakes...

I don't eat nearly as much as some other people might. What I would consider to be overeating is eating to the point where I feel absolutely stuffed instead of just full. That doesn't take much sometimes. But no, I tend to eat less at buffets since I take less than what restaurants would give me.

I do sometimes still overeat at buffets, but not nearly so often as I used to, now that I'm aware of how bad I'm going to feel afterward.

I eat more than I would at a regular restaurant, but only to the point where I'm happy and slightly over-full. I used to absolutely stuff myself to get "my moneys worth" and then I realized it actually wasn't making me feel satisfied/happy, which for me, is the point of eating out. Now I eat more moderate amounts at buffets.

Therefor, I do not overeat because I do not eat there at all.
