Do you think anything will happen for Dec,2012?

Contributor: libra777 libra777
I am referring the the Mayan calendar stuff...
I am glad that so far the news is not pumping out the usual scare tactics on this
like they seem to do with everything else.

Personally i think December will come and go with out the sky falling.

I don't think anything will happen but, hey, you never know. Weirdos who want something to happen might wreak havoc with terrorist attacks or crap like that! I really hope not though. I hope law enforcement is on their game this winter.

No, but if something does, I hope it's the Zombie Apocalypse.

Like the whole "God is coming back" claims or the zombie mess?

Either way, I don't believe in that zombie stuff, but I do believe in God, and I believe the rapture of the church will happen, but probably nothing like what the people keep predicting. Bible says he'll come like a theif in the night -- meaning it won't be predictable when. No, I don't ever believe in the Mayan predictions, not so far. I don't think anything outrageous will happen really.

The only thing happening for sure on 12-12-12 will be a ton of weddings and C-sections.

I can see a few people going crazy and maybe lotting or something stupid like that, but as far as the world just fizzling out, nope.

For the record, the Mayans never predicted an apocalypse. It's just the way the calendar works. They have three different ways of telling time, all on a different cycle, and on that particular day, the long count cycle ends and restarts. The only "prediction" was much more recent than the creation of that calendar, and it was vague and involved corn.

I also find it amusing that while everyone's aware of the inaccurate, popularized version of the Mayan information, they're ignoring a perfectly good Egyptian doomsday prophecy, which is actually set for December 12, 2012.

Considering we use the Julian calendar, the world should have ended by the Mayan prediction about six months ago. Besides, it wasn't the end of the world, it was the end of an age.

I do believe in God, but I don't believe in the Rapture, and even if I did, it wouldn't come with a handy-dandy pocket calendar.

I hope not. But the middle-east is set for a huge event. The world is going crazy financially. May not be December....but things are going to happen soon (next few years) that will leave most of us not recognizing the country we live in. Hope Im wrong.

I figure people will poison themselves and their children and pets again (like for the Rapture), and then when nothing happens, the world will have fewer crazy people.
