We do not have heartworm in Montana--but when we went to Alabama, our vet had us use it for the dogs--as a preventative measure. We have had no ill effects. We are through with the tripe month doses until next time.We use tickguard every month of the summer and have had no issues either. Our ticks carry Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever--so that is a must!!
