I think it depends a lot on the breed. Overall, I enjoy cats a lot more because they're far less dependent in terms of personality. Some dog breeds, however, like the Rottweiler? Are adorable, sweet, obedient, and super smart. I currently own four cats and two ferrets and while I don't look forward to any of them passing I already know that I really want a rottweiler puppy for my next pet.

I love them both but I like owning a cat better than owning a dog. Living in an apartment, cleaning a litterbox is way better than having to take the dog out on a leash all the time. A dog needs a yard.
Also, I love my fishies just as much as the cats and dogs.

I am a dog person, but have owned cats at the same time with the dogs. Our last cat lived for 15 years, and helped to raise at least 3 of our dogs in various stages of their lives. We have owned 2 cats, and approximately 9 or 10 dogs in our married life. (43 years)

I love all animals, but I'm really a dog person. I really like cats too, but since I'm allergic I can't have one.

My wife and I are cat people, owning two right now, and several more over the years. However, I think I could be a dog person as well. I had a dog as a kid. I just wouldn't have one of those little "yappers".

Definitely a cat person. Dogs are... quaint. But not something I'd want to deal with on a daily basis. Had a dog once, from now on only cats. Helps that the boyfriend is wildly allergic to dogs. xD
