Doesn't matter as long as it's maintained. I prefer clean shaven or second day stubble, but the ex had a full beard, so I got used to it.

Clean or stubble is great, depends on the person, some people don't look good with facial hair. I LOVE sideburns, mutton chops can look really awesome on certain people, but you have to have the right face for it.
