Would you take your family to a thrift store for free clothes or would you be too ashamed?

it shouldn't be shameful if you give back

If I had a family and needed stuff, I would go. But I'm single and don't need anything.

If we had to yes. If someone is in need, there is no reason to feel ashamed to go get what you need. However, I don't think people need to take advantage of it if they can afford their own. There are plenty of people that honestly need it.

Sure. If I needed clothes and I liked what they had, sure. If I didn't like anything, though, I'm not going to take things unnecessarily.

I wouldn't have a problem with it if they had things in my size that I would wear. I don't have the money for new clothes or anything really which is why I love Eden

When I was younger and we didn't have a lot of money, we always went to garage sales.

I shop goodwill and yard sales, so I'm not against used things or really cheap things. But I would have to be really broke to take free clothes from someone other than a close relative...I guess I have too much pride, I'd feel guilty about it unless I swapped even with someone. I was raised on welfare, so I guess I just have personal issues with feeling like I owe people. But, hey, to each his own, if someone else needs help, then more power to them.

Though I grew up in a wealthy family, since being on my own I've been skirting on the edge of homelessness and have relied on food banks and such in the recent past. I don't think there's any shame in seeking help like free clothing/items/food if you legitimately need it!

I might. It depends really on my financial situation. Right now, I can afford to buy myself clothes, so I'd feel bad taking away from those who might need free clothing.

I spent years trying to get back onto my feet with 3 small children after finally escaping an abusive marriage. I have had to use thrift shops as well as food banks in order to do so. I have always done it with a smile on my face because I knew it was a stepping stone for my family. I would never be ashamed to do what I need for my family. Just like I became a cam girl and have shown who knows what to who knows who just to pay the bills.

When I go to a clothing closet I always bring in my childrens outgrown clothes, usually more than I bring out. I like to think that while these places are helping me, I am helping others. It keeps me smiling and my family warm.

We don't really go through clothes that quick to even warrant going shopping much. I still have shirts and whatnot that I wore in middle school.

Being cost-effective is nothing to be ashamed of, especially if you genuinely need the stuff.

Only if I were in desperate need. I have gone there for furniture when I had nothing, but they didn't really have anything i needed at the time. i was fortunate enough to get my stuff from friends and family.

I love the fill-a-bag kind of sales! My mother was never very into thrift stores when I was younger but I loved them. I have no shame shopping at them, it's wear I find all my really unique items!
