I have a question about security software... I have the 2012 version of trend micro and I have to renew my subscription. Does this mean I have to get the 2013 version or can I buy the 2012 version again but with a different serial number???
For all you computer Geeks out there

Are you open to trying something different?
I'm using Microsoft Security Essentials. I've been through many different types of security software, and this is my favorite, by far. Seems like Microsoft is stepping their game up. And it's free also.
Anyway, I'm not sure how updates to subscriptions work. Just wanted to give my suggestion.

Is Microsoft Security a download? Well I bought the 2013 upgrade for my computer and maybe I will try yours next year... I know a few online free downloads AVG for instance... thanks for your help though

You ALWAYS want the newest version possible for your security software. They plug important security holes and have the latest up-to-date virus definitions. (Normal-people language: The newest version is always the best at finding viruses and security problems, especially new threats!)
I use something called Avast! Free Antivirus. As the name suggests, the basic version is free and does its job very well. Anyway, good luck -- there are a lot of good antivirus programs.
