do you have any special gift giving theaterics on holidays? for a gift card, my mom wrapped it on a brick, and buried in cray paper and wrapped in a box, wrapped within a second box.

I have always made my daughter a present full of presents. Just little things, but oh, the look on her face!!

My mother is the 'gift card in a giant box' person - tapes it to the bottom of a box, wraps the box ... so it feels like you're getting an empty box. One variation was stuffing it with packing paper before wrapping it.
A friend of mine wraps stuff in gift wrap, then wraps that with an entire roll of tape. (She's a force to be reckoned with on April Fool's Day.)
My family also tends to reuse old boxes to place things in (like clothing), which has ranged from coffee cans to drinking glass set boxes. I'm kicking around the idea of using the box a sex toy came in to do that ...

I don't know about "theatrics", but "misdirection" works well. I did the for my b.i.l. I use the biggest box I could find and wrapped the sander and t-shirt inside.
