So, the wife and I decided to take a quick trip to New Orleans for a few days to celebrate our anniversary. We haven't been there in 20 years. We're staying in the French Quarter and not renting a car. Anyone have suggestions of things to do, places to see, restaurants? I'd love any input. Thanks.

Congrats on your anniversary! How long?

I have only driven through so I can not offer any suggestions, just wanted to say I am jealous. Can I go with? hehe.

I listen to 'American Routes' pretty regularly, and I have repeatedly heard that the "real New Orleans" in in the 5th Ward - New Orleans being comprised of neighborhoods affectionately referred to by the locals as "Wards".

It sounds like there is a lot of history to see in that section. Maybe that helps!

And with any luck, I'll be going there myself for a conference in February
