That someone's phone rang NOT with the ringtone what you had, and you totally thought that it was yours? (You wouldn't believe how MANY people I have known/seen who always did that... )

Yep! I've had it happen, but not too often. Usually, what gets me is when I hear a certain ringtone that comes with all AT&T phones. Since sometimes, my phone randomly doesn't pick up my memory card, it'll sometimes ring and be one of the pre ringtones that comes with the phone. So when I hear other's phones ring with an AT&T tone, I always check mine.

i work in retail, and i see people do it all the time in the store. but it hasnt happened to me, i have a pretty unique ring tone

Oddly enough, not many people ring to Katy Perry's "Firework" or Bruno Mar's "The Lazy Song" so nope, never had that happen. ^_^
My mother set the cell to ring to "Firework" for female contacts (and people that aren't in the contacts) and "The Lazy Song" for male contacts.
