Has it ever happened with you? :D

I happen to misread things quite often, especially when I am all sleepy and see texts blurry sometimes...

Once for example it even happened with me that I was reading a book about horses, and it sounded something like "the horses are ferent" - I was thinking for about 20 minutes, reading it again and again, and was so desperate already, not finding the word even in any books or online that I ran to my mom to ask her what in the world that word is, gave her the book, she read it, and pointed out for me finally that I totally skipped a line, and the word was "different" in a sentence about the horses! ~lol

Do you misread things occasionally too? Any funny stories to share?

...I don't usually misread things but when I'm tired or half asleep I have an awful tendency reply to my bf's texts with some unintelligible mess of letters that's nothing near what I meant to type.
It's a little sad but he's used to it now, if he notices such a reply he tells me to go take a nap and won't reply for about 6 hours.

I've caught myself misreading things lately. I think it's because I skim/scan and "get the gist" of what I'm reading rather than fully concentrate on it. I picked up the new Anne Rice book and was thoroughly confused for awhile because I thought the blurb said it was set in North Carolina. Nope. Northern California. I guess all I saw was the "N" and "C" and filled in the blanks myself. Oops. I'm better with phone texts because most of the people who text me know to keep it REALLY short or I probably won't answer at all.

I have, but it is due to the brain damage I received a couple years ago. It has gotten much better, but when I know a word is not right it drives me insane!

That has not happened to me, but I don't usually read when I'm tired.
