Has your email been hacked?
My email got hacked recently and everyone on my contact list got spammed from my address with one of those penis enlargement product emails. It was great getting a call from my mother inlaw telling me she got an email from me but wasn't interested in the product. LOL. I had to reset my password and it took a few days before some of the emails quit bouncing.

I've had old dormant accounts be hacked before. I clear out the contact list and then shut it down.

I don't think I've ever had anything "hacked" (though usually they just guess your password and there's no actual hacking involved).

Yeah it was effin annoying. People getting smoking cessation and penis enlargement spam from my address. My friend from work was like dude...you've been hacked.

What you're describing is phishing, not hacking.

But I've been phished before, too. It usually happens when you enter your email on a less-than-reliable website.

An old (rarely used) Yahoo account was compromised and contacts spammed like that. I am pretty careful (complex password, don't go phishing, secure OS/browser) so I don't think it was from anything I did. I was pretty pissed and I know Yahoo is a terrible/failing company in general so I immediately closed the account.

Yes mine did. It was such a crazy day. But no one got spammed at all. The pw needed to be changed anyway. I had that email for over 10 years and that was the only pw I had it.

No, but one of my friend's has, and she still hasn't taken care of the problem. It's a shame when you have to block your friend's emails!

Not my email, but I've had my facebook hacked!

They contacted some of my friends and relatives, saying we were stuck in the UK and needed them to wire us some money!!!

It was a total hassle to resolve too!!!

I now have a password of steel for facebook, and my accounts dealing with money!

yes twice idk how. my yahoo i once checked my sent messages and it was a whole bunch of messages sent in a chineese laguage. i live in a mixed community but latley alot of asians have been moving in my apartment building. i think one of them may be hackers. another time my aol was i checked my sent messages and all my contact list was sent spam.

meto it told me someone logged in from chicago. i changed my password quick and set a setting so i only can log in from my computer or iphone other than that it would notify me if someone used another computer

That happends to me very recently. It sent out VIAGRA emails to everyone I had ever sent an email to lol... including my man DAD! so embarrassing.

My yahoo account recently began spamming people weird emails. I simply contacted Yahoo and they changed my password and did whatever they did to stop the spam. Haven't had any more problems beyond having to go to everyone and apologize for offering them weight loss drugs and penis enlargement surgery or whatever.... Most of my friends and family just rolled their eyes and realized it was spam.

Yes it started send out weird spam E-mails to people didn't realize it was doing it till some one told me. Changing password solved the problem.
