For those of us who still live with our parents and don't want them to know about those type of things: Were you using it? Did you leave it laying around, not knowing they were going to be coming home? What was their reaction?
For those who aren't living with their parents: Same questions.
For those with kids: Same questions, plus how did you handle the situation? Explain to them what it was? Pretend it never happened?
Here's my story:
I'm still living with my parents while I'm going to college, and neither of my parents ever talks about sex. I never even had "the talk". Anyway, I was home alone and figured I'd take that opportunity to do my video review. I had to go into another room for better lighting. Well, my dad came home earlier than I thought he would. My bedroom is in between the front door and the room I was in. I raced down the hall, threw the toy and camera under my bed, and when I turned around, he was standing in the door way, asking what it was that I was hiding. Instead of coming clean, I went with the obvious, "Nothing." I repeatedly told him it was nothing, but he wouldn't let it go. So I asked him, "I don't think you want to know." He said, "Yes, I do." (He probably thought it was something bad like drugs.) I finally fessed up that it was a sex toy. He walked away and said, "I just came home to grab my racquetball shorts." After he got them, he said, "You're right. I didn't want to know." then left.
I called my friend immediately to tell her about it. She laughed and said, "Why didn't you just tell him it was his Christmas present?" I was too panicked to think of a good excuse like that. He called me a few minutes later and told me not to be embarrassed cause it's not a big deal, that it's natural, and that he doesn't care as long as it's "not some weird studded thing". Oh, and he promised not to tell my mom. Thank goodness for that.
As embarrassing as it was, I think it was a good thing. Cause now, if he decides to snoop around my room and finds my collection, he won't be surprised. XD
