Have you ever been for allergy testing?

Found out today we have to take my 3 year old to have a food allergy test done. She isn't allowed to have any cow's milk products for two weeks!! so it's going to be hard telling her she can't have milk or cheese! but luckily She has had almond milk before so hopefully she can deal with that for 2 weeks..

Have you ever went for allergy testing? any suggestions on making it easier- especially for a 3 year old.

I am 37 and had an allergy test (not for food), so I am not sure if the procedure is the same or not. For mine, it was everything but food. I basically had to lay down and have tons of needles/allergins poked in my back. They did not hurt, but itched like all get out. That was 6 years ago, and still am getting allergy shots to this day monthly. Not sure how much help this is, but from my experience it is a painless procedure (like I said, not sure if the same for food versus other allergies).
