I'm just curious if anyone has made any good friends on here, through forum discussions, reviews, mentoring, private messages, or whatever.

Even though I've been here since 2007 and am usually on every day, I find it difficult to actually communicate with a lot of people on here. It seems a lot of people are just too into their own clique. I've never been a fan of cliques and sometimes just feel like an outsider.

I haven't but I'm not really looking to either. Internet 'friends' aren't really my thing. If they lived in my town and could actually hang out then I'd probably make more of an effort.

I have made a few friends. I must admit that they are a new kind of friend though. A bit strange to have a friend that I have never seen in person. Still, they are there when I need them whether it be advice, support or just someone to chat with.

I've made a very good friend. Kira and I talk everyday just about. We started talking here on EF and figured out we had a lot in common. We gave each other our phone numbers and talk everyday now.
I do have more friends on here, but not like me are Kira are friends.

I haven't yet, but I hope to. I've been using EF for 3 years now, but have only become active on the forums and such for the last couple months. The community has been supportive and welcoming in many ways, and I'm glad to have found it. I think it's just a matter of time and interaction

I've made a few friends. I'm from the generation whose first exposure to the internet were a few boards and lots of ICQ chats, so it's almost second-nature for me. 99% of my communication is done through the internet in some fashion.
I think everyone is pretty welcoming around here. We're a unique internet society in which we have a complete spectrum of user profiles and personalities. It's really easy to blend into the crowd and it's also really easy to stand out from the crowd. As with any society, it's a must-have to learn how the society operates in order to get out what you put in.

I have made a few friends on here and a couple are getting pretty close. As far as cliques--I do not notice them, so I am not quite sure what everyone is talking about but I do my own thing, so probably wouldn't notice anyway!! I look forward to making more friends!!

I've been here for almost a full year, and I've made quite a few. Several I've texted, added on facebook, and we talk on other social networks and stuff. Even those who I only talk to on here, I have a pretty considerable amount, that I'll comment back and forth on their walls and message them.
Usually, I'm able to get along with all kinds of people, so even when there are cliques I'm able to fit in and I'm also a super-friendly people-person, so I always tend to make a LOT of friends REALLY quickly. I did notice what you mean though, when I first joined the site I noticed there were some tight groups of friends on here, so I had to kinda wriggle my way in

I've made friends with a lot of people on here. One thing I found out (just by sticking myself out there) is that even if people seem like they're in a clique, they probably aren't really. I learned that if I just take the initiative to be friendly and start chatting with them, they are nice back to me and we can make friends.
I have never reached out to anyone here and had them be rude, or ignore me, or anything like that. The folks here (by and large) are very welcoming. And I've found that even if another member "seems popular" or "well liked" or whatever, they're still nice people. My shyness in talking to people held me back from making friends here for a while, but once I started talking to people, I found out that most everyone here is super nice, helpful and supportive. Pretty impressive!
