What do you do when you get a headache? I take whatever painkiller I have. I know someone, though, who doesn't believe in painkillers (never found out why) & just puts up w/ the pain until it goes away. I don't know how he does it, I can't handle pain.

I am big fan of painkillers - I can't function if I don't take something to get rid of the pain. I usually take naproxen or excedrin.

I don't take anything until I can't stand the pain anymore, or it's affecting my ability to do work. After that, I just take three ibuprofens.

Personally, it's a bit of both. I put up with the pain - but if I'm just about to go to bed, and still have a headache, then I'll take some meds - I need my beauty sleep, after all! Or, I take some just before I go to the cinema: I always get headaches during films (too loud and the big screen sometimes hurts my eyes) and I don't want a rare, enjoyable experience to be ruined by something as trivial as a headache.

About 90% of my headaches are from dehydration so I always try drinking a couple of glasses of water when I get a headache. If that doesn't work then I may take something for it.

Ugh! I hate em'! I get migraines and had one all night. Migraines can be so bad that you will do anything to get rid of it and especially if it's a common occurance for you. I get them frequently and often they'll appear and last for a few days in a row so I have no choice, but to take something. I started taking BC powder for mine. I have to finish school, work and take care of kids so I get pretty desperate. Sometimes, if I have the time I can lay down for an hour with an ice pack under my temple. I'll lay my temple on it like a pillow so it really gets to working. It helps tremendously, but I just don't always have time to spend an hour doing that.

Terrible cycle. Pain = stress/no sleep. Stress/No sleep= pain. Right now if someone offered me heroin I'd take it. A few more days of this, if someone offered me a pistol...
