Help With Contraceptives?

Contributor: sweetiejo sweetiejo
So I just started on a lupron shot regimen, and was told this is not a form of birth control I can't take normal birth control because of the hormones will mess with the shot. I was wondering if any one had advice or product suggestions besides condoms that work well.

If you can't take hormones, you're limited to the nonhormonal IUD or barriers. Sorry I can't give much advice beyond that.

Here's a link to Planned Parenthood and the "My Method" test. You go through it and answer questions and it gives you ideas about birth control options.

I can't use the birth control pill either. I've used a diaphragm, the sponge, condoms (non-latex) a cervical cap, and now we use withdrawal (but withdrawal probably isn't the best choice when you are on Lupron.)

There are choices from the diaphragm, to a cervical cap, to condoms, condoms and spermicidal foam, to The Sponge, to the the female condom, to IUDs, to permanent methods.

I just took that test. Just to see what it would say. It's actually really helpful in determining birth control.

I was going to say you (the OP) are best to look into cervical caps, diaphragm, sponge, or non hormonal IUD.

It's too bad you can't use hormonal birth control. I just switched to the patch. I'm loving it. It's so much better than the pill.
