How big is your biggest TV? How big is too big?

Contributor: Bignuf Bignuf
We have a fair size family room. Right now we have a 42 inch flat screen on a media stand. Hubby wants to put a 60 inch flat on the wall. Seems to me to be a bit TOO huge. He say's he wants the "theater experience".

Anyone care to input on this.

I have two older TV's one in my living room and one in my sons room. The only big TV is in my room and it is flat screen. It is big for me and it is a 29". I would like a bigger one for me so I can give that one to my son at some point.

I have a 32", but my parents have a 44". Each is the perfect size for the room it's in.

I have a 36". I refused to go any bigger when by S.O.'s male instincts started kicking in over the bigger ones

I think it's a perfect size for any room.

We have a 55 inch. You get used to the size so fast and I kinda want something bigger already.

There is no such thing as a TV that's too big . It's great to watch movies on them - much cheaper to buy the DVD, popcorn, and drinks than it is to go to the show.

There is such a thing as too big of a tv! If You aren't far enough away from an incredibly large tv then the picture quality looks like hammered owl shit.

We have a 47" in our living room and it's perfect. My friends have a 70" and it's nearly impossible to be able to watch the whole screen unless you're sitting far away.

We have a 36" which we chose deliberately for the space. It is definitely possible to pick a TV that's too big for where it is. We have friends with a 55" TV only 6" from their couch; I get a headache if I try to watch TV there. Here's a good reference for picking the right size for your space.

I think my TV is in the mid 20 to 30 inch range. 50+ inches can get overwhelming, but it depends on your space and need
