working out, nothing like swinging a Kettle bell around and sweating through some mean burpees to make you feel better

Cry, vent to someone, take a nap....and the worst- if it's emotional stress, I eat and I'm trying to stop that. Sometimes a good cry is just all I need to calm down and relax. But really, having someone listen and actually care (or pretend to) really helps to get it all out instead of keep it bottled up til I blow up on someone.

Meditation, exercise and stretching (or yoga) do it for me.

I prefer to get on my dirt bike and ride. When really stressed, I take the hardest, most challenging trails and really rip on it, this helps me to forget the stress issue and when I am done riding my adrenaline and endorphins are so high that the stress is gone.

If I can't go riding, I head to my shop and get a good book and a six pack of beer. Time for me really helps and then I can tune out the world for a night....

I have a few ways. Some are not so good, like eating and drinking. Other than that, I exercise, bake, or read a good book.

I really need a way to shed some stress, as well as weight from my life. I use to run, and it helped greatly. So, I think I need to get back to doing just that.

Yoga. Since I have to breathe deeply and regularly and concentrate on moving my body, it takes my mind off things.

I love reading the responses to this! I'm so frequently stressed and anxious. It's nice to hear how other people deal with it.

I tend to have a cigarette and surf the internet. It's a distraction from the extreme feelings and allow me to take a look at what's really bothering me. Sometimes I buy things online. I'll look at my toy collection or have some toy play. When I'm really stressed I need to distract myself for at least ten minutes or else I get overwhelmed and have a small panic attack.

Shopping, playing with my toys, talking it out, crying, and often eating. Most of my stress relievers aren't very healthy. I want to try meditation but I don't know where to begin.

meditation can be very helpful. I use a very simple basic practice.
I lie flat on my back on my bed with eyes closed. then I focus on my breath. I think the word "in" with every in breath and "out" with every out breath. my mind does wander at times. but I just gently bring it back to focusing on my breath. I started out doing this 5 minutes per day. with practice, I can now meditate 30 minutes or longer. sometimes I even fall asleep.

Some of these are really great ideas. I think I may try some. I am always looking for a new way to relieve stress. Thanks!

What I call, "power yoga". I think there is an actual thing called power yoga too.

I just do all the yoga moves but go through them quickly, multiple times, leg lift style poses and do more of them... for about an hour.

It is amazing!!!! You literally cannot think of anything else other than your body moving or else you fall over and/or hurt yourself. That hour or so I am purely focused on me and what I am feeling physically. Once I am done.. I am exhausted and feeling like jelly from my head to my toes... but golly. I feel calm and stress free.

Then I smoke.
