It's finals week and my brain is officially checked out. I have 2 days to finish a 7 page paper in Spanish about the drug wars and I'm having the hardest time getting myself motivated. My brain is checked out.

I've tried bribing myself and using scare tactics on myself, but really, I'm having a hard time caring. I'm so ready for this goddamn semester to be over.

Seriously, when you have a ton of shit to do, what do you do?

I am really bad at getting things done lol. I tell myself that as soon as I am done then I can do XX, something that maybe I haven't been able to do (buy something, go out with my friends) because I have been busy. This might not work for everyone though...

Get plenty of sleep and do as much as I can every day. Even if it is just free writing about how unmotivated I am it seems to prime the pump as it were and get me back on track. If I am tired or over stressed, however I will have zero success until I sleep.

Something a TA told me this semester is something I now live by. "If you wait until the last minute, it only takes a minute." Basically, what motivates me best is the pressure of knowing I only have a limited amount of time left to do something. I don't know how well it works for everyone, and it's not really much of a motivation tactic, but it sure works for me.

That being said, I just wrote an 8 page research paper in 3 hours last week (I started 4 hours before the deadline). I was pretty impressed with myself.
