Medium to medium rare. Rare definitely has a good flavor but the texture's a bit odd to me and it seems to cool down too fast for my liking.

Well done. If I can see pink at all, it's not done.

My husband on the other hand, orders his steak "as rare as you're allowed to serve it" when we go out. We often joke that we average out to a more normal preference.

My tastes changed over the years as I'm able to afford better cuts of meat. Like I used to enjoy a charred piece of meat, like a london broil in college but now it seems like a waste of the flavor. Medium rare is the way to go.
