well! I know it's not the cool answer but when I see the red liquid squeezing out of a rare steak it just squicks me. I know it's not technically blood, but still!!

Quite simply, I don't. I don't eat red meat often at all.

But when I do get steak, on that rare occasion, I get it medium.
