How do you toast your toast.

Contributor: eri86 eri86
I always used to butter and then toast my bread. It would come out warm and soft from the melted butter. But then one day I toasted my bread only to realize I had forgotten to butter it. So I simply buttered it after the fact. The toast was hot enough to melt the butter. CRUNCHY with MELTED BUTTERY goodness!

Now I toast and THEN butter

I toast in a toaster, duh.

But once I'm done toasting my bread, I only put jelly on it. I hate butter.

Me too; I toast, and then butter. My husband likes to add butter first, then stick the bread into the toaster oven, and the darn butter drips and burns inside my poor toaster!

This reminds me of a little... joke? brain teaser? I'm not sure what to call it but it goes like this:

You: Roast goes in a roaster. What goes in a toaster?
Other person: toast?
You: No, bread!

lol... corny, I know. I've asked a few people this before after I heard it and most of the time people say "toast" because it rhymes.

Always toast first. I'd be afraid of butter (or any other toppings) dripping in my toaster!

Also, I sometimes like dry toast plain.

Toast first, butter after. And then sometimes jelly.

I always roast it then butter. Buttering first then sticking it into the toaster sounds like a fire hazard.

For the most part, though, I prefer peanut butter toast.

I toast, then butter. Unless I am making grilled cheese, then I butter the bread and watch it brown up in the toaster oven. Easiest (and best) way to make a grilled cheese in just a couple minutes...and no pan to wash up afterwards.

I've always toasted it and then topped it with the spread of choice (usually butter or peanut butter).
I never tried buttering it first because I was always worried the butter would melt and short out the toaster.
