How long do you fight until you give in and take a pain killer? :D

I must be all torn apart by the pain already, unless it distracts me so much that I can't focus on anything, just sitting/lying and yowling in pain, or if I can't fall asleep even after hours and hours for Nights and Nights already... ^^

(My reasons are a few but major: I don't want to "drug myself" when there are herbs out there to help, I also don't want to make my system get used to any drugs because it can mess yer healthy balance up, and of course I don't want to be addicted in the slightest way, not to mention that I want to be able to handle pain as much as possible, cause you never know when you would find yourself in a situation without any help and anything to ease/relieve your pain... ^^)

I don't like taking them so I usually wait until it is unbearable.

I don't usually even think to use pain killers, I just try to ignore it or use a heating pad if I can

If the pain is so bad I'm in tears then I reach for aspirin, but on average a 500 count bottle lasts me six or seven months (if no one else is using the same bottle).

I have an excruciatingly painful rare pancreatic illness, so I have to take heavy-duty painkillers often. I actually have a high tolerance for pain, but now I also have a high tolerance for painkillers thanks to this illness. Basically, I have to take painkillers everyday. If I try to wait the pain out, it gets unbearably bad.

It depends on the type of pain. Typically, I don't wait too long because the pain I'm usually in (which is pretty much 24/7) can be debilitating and unbearable. Sometimes I am in so much pain my speech is slurred, I see double, and my focus is off. On good days, my hubby helps me with daily tasks such as doing my hair for me, unless I feel like medicating myself. I handle meds well, though, and they don't put me out of it no matter what I take, so I don't mind taking them if it means I can be fully functional. I do worry about my liver, which is why I am hoping that they legalize marijuana in my area, because that seems to help more than the high-dose pills they give me, and without the side-effects and risk of organ damage.

Most pain killers, even prescription pain killers, don't work on me at all. So I have to be pretty desperate to even give them a try. Muscle relaxants do work, but even then, I tend to wait until things are pretty bad before popping a pill.

Not long. I'm a wuss with stuff like that. If I have a migraine or back pain or something like that - give me the pills!

I don't like taking drugs unless i feel like its absolutely necessary. Just yesterday I had a headache almost all afternoon and didn't take anything for it.
