I always wanted children. And after the second was born when she was 5 months old I found out I was pregnant with my third! I love all three of them to death but, needless to say I left the hospital with my tubes tied!! LOL

I have 2. My daughter is 9 and my son will be 2 in a couple of months. We had our daughter when we were really young I was still in high school and he had just graduated.
I love having two and dont want anymore but my boyfriend wants more. Back when we started dating he always made it clear that he wanted a big family.

He was 23 at the time that he had it done. It was an in office procedure that took less than an hour. I took him home, he took it really easy for a few days- advil and the occasional bag of frozen peas to keep the swelling down. He bruised a bit but he had scar tissue from a prior procedure when he was a kid. He had zero complications.

We talked about it and went that way with it for two reasons- one being it is a LOT cheaper and the other being the higher potential of side effects for any female sterilization, both direct results of the procedure and long term. He has said several times that he's glad he had it done because of the freedom and of course I'm enjoying the benefits!

Sounds perfect to me. We don't want kids either, and at some point would like to have a more permanent method of birth control. Of course, it's much too early for us to do that, being that we're only 23 and 22. Someday!
My husband was 23 when he had his vas. I think a lot of it depends upon the doctor (also, I've noticed, at least in my area, they're much more willing to do a vas than a tubal or other fem sterilization at a younger age). If he sees that you're both mature and sure of your decision he will be more likely to do it. We didn't run into any issues at all when we had his done.

I have one, a 17 month old boy - I would have considered another, but my boyfriend has a vasectomy long before we met, so I don't think there is another one in the future!

P. Nightmare - nice names.

That's wonderful to hear. (lol, frozen peas.) It's his body so the decision will be his, I won't push him to have a vasectomy. But it's good to know one can have it done so young, too, with minimal complications.

0 and I hope it will always be that way. I would get a vasectomy tomorrow if I could, but so few doctors would be willing to do it "sigh".

We're going to have 2, though he wants more.

I'd like to add another question... how far apart are your kids and would you like the farther or less far apart?

We have a 20 yr-old daughter and 19 year-old son. Having them close was both a blessing and a problem. Trying to pay college expenses for 2 at the same time is a challenge - but they are so precious to my wife and I that like most parents we couldn't imagine our lives without them.

I have seven kids. Five are mine and I have two step, but I hate using the word step. I have four from a previous marriage (it was five, I had another step-daughter, but she passed away about 6 years ago), my husband has two from a previous marriage, and now we have one together. I'm not having any more, lol. I think this is enough.

4 kids (8, 6, 5 and 4) and we are done. 3 boys and the youngest is a girl. No, we didn't keep trying until we had a girl, though I always wanted one. It just sort of happened that way. Despite being on hormonal birth control, I wound up conceiving our younger 3 children. Had planned on a tubal after the third, but was a bit freaked out about it when I went to get it done. After the fourth I was sure I was ready to have it done.

None!!!! JK I don't know really. Hopefully with age (or less time before the time clock goes off) I will have a better grip on the issue.

That's how I feel. I don't know if I'll have any kids. If I'm meant to then I'd like to have more than 1 so he/she has someone to play and share adventures with.
