How many New Years resolutions have you kept?

I can only think of one I have kept: be better to the people around you. What about y'all?

I totally agree on this, I'm the same way.

Yes. I've actually never "broken" a resolution! Everyone keeps saying that it's so impossible, nobody ever sticks to them, but I do and always have. I make a resolution each year, and even throughout the year, not just on new year's.

Mine this year, I've yet to really find one big specific thing like I normally do. Last year's was to really truly get somewhere in dealing with being raped. It had consumed me and I let myself basically go to heck. I had only bad, crappy thoughts & fear. Just, you know how it goes. I got better with all the changes I'd make and all the effort and support from my lovie, but I was still stuck in one certain bad spot that I couldn't seem to move past. I'd improve in some ways, but it seemed like I'd still be basically consumed with it and not ever getting the feeling that I was satisfied, if that even makes sense. I wasn't at the right spot of "healing." So my resolution was to move past that spot. I knew erasing my memory wasn't possible, so I aimed for what was -- moving past that spot. That spot where it was like I was running in place. I don't even know how to describe it. But I never could get the feeling it was over, done. And I made it! I did. I moved past it even further than I ever imagined. I've moved so far past it that I'm lapping it for a second time. Lol. Kidding. But I've moved past enough that I have been able to really focus and improve so many other areas of my life in this last year. Big changes. Lotsa good.

So that is one I'm so proud of. And another was to heal physically from endometriosis and IBS, which had me totally down and out for 4 years of my life. I did that too. I hardly ever suffer in pain to the point of not being able to have a regular day!

This year, I know I can always improve something, but haven't really got a "big" one. LOl. I figure maybe to show more kindness and move forward with the things I'm most passionate about, which are things that are part of my career, so those could benefit me in some way.

But, yes. I do keep my resolutions. I love yours! "Be better to the people around you." Now we could all do some of that, and I think this is one of the most positive resolutions I have yet to see this year! I think we could all make that one, and even accomplish.

I like your way of thinkin.

I've kept several, but I try not to stress too much about them.

Few, since I tend to make minor promises that are more realistic and update them as the year goes on

I really don't make yearly resolutions. They're hard to remember. I find it works much better to pick one smaller thing you can change and try to make the change every day.

I've been successful with resolutions sometimes. The best New Year's one ever was resolving to exercise 3 times every week and rewarding myself with either a feast or a "trinket" every 6 weeks if I did it. I got into the best shape of my life that way; I think it's time to try it again!
