How often do you get introspective about yourself?

Contributor: js250 js250
Do you ever sit there, look at the deepest recesses of your soul and let the thoughts just tumble out as they may? Obviously that is what I have been doing lately, as if you have not guessed from my topics! One of the hardest things to do is to take a good, hard look at yourself, who you are and what you truly believe about yourself. AND be honest about it!!! Not self-deprecating, no feeling sorry, no putting yourself down--just an honest, hard hitting and eye opening look. Good and bad.....

--Do you ever do this?
--Have you ever wanted to?
--How has it helped to make you a better person or to re-asses your life?

Far more often then I should. My head is a dangerous and scarey place and I should stay out of it for as long as possible.

Yeah, I do this way too often. I'm sure that it's good for some but I'm way too neurotic.

I do this pretty often, especially if I am in a weird mood. I like to assess why I feel that way and evaluate my choices. Sometimes it has led to major life changes, which have definitely had a positive effect.

Too often. It often doesn't make me a better person...it just makes me wish that I was motivated and had the resources to be that better person.

I over think EVERYTHING so yes I do this all the time! LOL my recent kick just tonight actually is I'm so amazed with how much I LOVE what I do! I'm a photographer and it is just SO special to be included in peoples special moments! I am in the business of special moments! LOL

I try to do this occasionally, if nothing else--to let the bats out and regroup the marbles, lol!! Seriously, I found that if I get like that I need to ride it through, there is a reason for it! There is a point of too dang much, but then trying for a distraction or going after an adrenaline kick will get me off the mode....

I can get lost in myself if I'm not careful.

Yes, I do & it's something I try to do often. It is actually really beneficial for me. It can be scary though! lOL. I like to know even the deeper crap about myself though -- it's what helps me to improve myself and to be a better person for the people around me. Wow. That sounded so lame. Lol. But it's true.

I think I'm more sensitive to people's feelings and interact with them better and in a much closer way than before I bothered to really check into the insides of kendra30752. Lol. I just thought I was all these things I wanted to be. Funny, kind, good friend, smart, etc. They sounded good, so I assumed I was those things. I don't think I was NOT those things, but I definitely wasn't the best at them until I dug into my innards. I'm still not the best, but far more of an understanding person who is empathetic and can easily relate to other people & be whatever that particular person needs me to be for them. That is pretty much the big thing this has helped me to be.

Nothing wrong with taking a good hard look at yourself. But at the same time; if you have good strong supportavive friends around, they will do it for you.

No - I'm not prone to introspection, I'd rather move one. Although I use the past to inform my choices, I don't dwell on the mistakes - or over emphasize the successes.
