How to Deal with an Annoying Roommate

Contributor: StrawberryEve StrawberryEve
Alright, I need suggestions and tips on how to deal with my roommate that suffers from catty, fake OCD so I can't even keep the coat I'm about to go out in on my chair anymore, and who sexiles me at 1 in the morning on a Tuesday even though my classload is a living nightmare on Wednesdays as she has known since week 1. Any way you guys would deal with this without ripping off her head?

As a small, funny note; my elderly French teacher asked me why I was so sleepy in class the following day and said, after my explanation, "Well have you considered murder?" while class was still in session.

College roommates are a nightmare. I don't think I slept my entire freshman year, on account of the fact that my roommate never went to a single class her entire freshman year. Our room reeked of pot and cigarette smoke, her bed was always occupied by naked strangers, and she routinely puked in the trash can and then refused to clean it.

I solved this problem by repeatedly complaining to the college, followed by transferring to a different school and making sure the college knew why. (I was in a non-smoking room in an all-girls dorm, on the "quiet" floor. Colleges do not enforce these rules.)

I have never had a roommate. When I was looking at going to the dorms my first year in college, they had already filled them up before the previous year had even ended.

I don't know really how I'd deal with her without being mean back or just constantly pulling pranks on her. Maybe tell her, no, I have just as much right be here and leave my stuff sitting on my chair as you do. If your coat is not like laying on the floor or something, she really shouldn't have a reason to be complaining.

Make rules, post em on the fridge, and be a catty bitch back if necessary...
I'm not gonna lie I had 2 roommates in college and one was constantly writing 'mom' type notes to everyone and leaving them on the bed rather than just discuss issues she had with us in person..talk about annoying, and controlling, OMG the control freak! There were 3 of us, me (the normal one ) the second girl (the shy-run-to-my-room-and -cry-if-you-speak-to-m e-the-wrong-way type) and the third (control freak from hell...like the annoying mother who judges everything you do but its ok when SHE comes home drunk and pukes on the carpet!)
The shy one had an issue with always being cold but wasn't paying the electric bill..let me tell you how I put duct tape over all the heat registers and wrote "Get a fucking blanket" on the duct tape!
Sometimes being a catty bitch back is the only way.
As far as Im concerned if you're taking care of your own shit, cleaning up your own mess, and taking responsibility for your part of the shared living areas, who gives cares???
(sorry for the rant, but GAWD I hated female roommates!!!!)

I do not blame you at all, I wish we had co-gender housing....it's not too hard to live with guys.

I solved mine by getting a room change, I now live in a totally separate dorm. My old roommate was just ridiculous, like screaming tantrums and threats ridiculous, so glad to be free.
