I hated them. It was a bad area of my life that I would really rather just keep in the past.

It was like prison, incredibly awful.

It seemed to range from horrible to great, depending on situations. The hormones during that time period are so intense it heightens everything. It's only now as I look back that some things that I made a big deal out of seem smaller. But also some of the highs are not as high either.

I hated high school, oh my god how I hated high school. The clique mentality and the bullshit courses that do nothing to prepare you for the real world, even though the teachers barked at every opportunity the education they were providing was doing just that...it was just the most painful thing for me to do every day. I ditched at every opportunity.

The thing about it was, I wasn't stupid. I didn't get bad grades when I did my work, I just had zero interest in the work they wanted me to be doing. Which labeled me the "too smart for her own damn good, won't do anything to make life easier for herself" kid and it definitely positioned me for a really rocky start in life. I'm in my early 30's and things are just now leveling out. Do I regret it? No, not really. I learned a lot out of it all and so when there is success in my life, I cherish it and I hold onto it while figuring out a way to improve one step further. I don't know if I would be able to say that if I didn't have to work really hard for everything I have.

Awful. I lost my grandparents to heartattacks, became very depressed and became severely anorexic. I still suffer from my ED/depression now, but I'm getting better as time goes on.

They were...tolerable.
I had my small circle of friends, but pretty much all the "popular" kids made fun of me constantly.
And when that wasn't happening, I had people trying to cheat off my history tests.
Other than that though, they were alright I suppose.

So much hatred for high school. I got kicked out of one school for the way I dressed. Then I went to public school for a semester before I had a nervous breakdown. Pretty much everyone hated me or was scared of me.

After those two I transferred to a better school for my last two years. That period was okay, but still not the "best years of my life" by any stretch.

You know I never understood what all the fuss was about HS wise. I was a chubby anime nerd who loved art class, had a good number of friends, was never the subject of bullying. I didn't get great grades which I regret. But I never understood why people get so bitter about it. I guess I was just so unaware of people who did not directly affect me that even if people were making fun of me I probably wouldn't have noticed lol.

I wasn't a fan, but I got through it. I had enough friends that were similar enough to me that I didn't feel alone. But I wish I had dealt with my acne better, the scars still annoy me sometimes...

Ignorance is bliss. I think I would have given my left arm to be unaware of what was going on around me, but I heard the whispers and saw the finger-pointing. It was hard to deal with because I wasn't really taught how to handle the situation, I was just told that they were jealous and to ignore them. That's not how you handle a situation when someone is jumping on your back the moment you step off the bus and I mean literally jumping on your back. I will never understand what that girl had against me but I will never forget how evil and hateful she was to me.

Couldn't stand it. I liked school, I just couldn't stand the people. Bullied, accused of being a lesbian stalker, dateless and lonely, surrounded by idiot rednecks and girls looking to get pregnant, and my life threatened for talking to a guy in art class that some psycho girl had a crush on.

Under the surface of all that? I did have a very small group of friends that I'm still friends with to this day, I liked being myself because that meant I was "Real", and at least five guys had crushes on me to the point of dating girls who were busty snarky redheads who wore glasses, but never said a word to me then. (At least one of the guys finally admitted it seventeen years later and we're dating now.)

Okay, glad I went through it and survived, but I sure as hell never want to go back.

It had its ups and downs, I was bullied cause I was fat and didn't have tons of money. Such as life I made it through those 4 years and I don't really talk to many from high school now.
